Broadband was introduced to Northern Manitoba in 2004, during that time I was in school. I started my job as technician for the Band in 2006. Broadband Communications North(BCN) was formed in 2009.  Ryan Castel was selected to serve on this board as a representative of Cross Lake Band, he is still on the BCN board today, one of the longest serving board members there. We started planning before Broadband was brought into Cross Lake.  During the process of planning, we came up with the name 'Pimicikamak Broadband Services'. We started coming up with recommendations and plans for PBS.  We started our services at a cost of $50 per house per month.  Businesses are charged a higher rate. We made some upgrades between 2014 and 2021 and increased the rate to $60 per month.  PBS bought a new tower to extend and improve Services.  The rate went up to $75 per month which is what it is currently.
